Company Anticipates Continued Hiring in Face of Strong Market Projections for MEMS-based Motion Processing SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 3, 2009 – InvenSense, Inc., the leading provider of MEMS-based motion processing products for consumer electronics, today announced the addition of three industry veterans to its executive ranks as a result of a growing demand for its products. The market for motion processing is growing at an unprecedented rate aided in part by the popularity of the Nintendo® Wii™ and Apple® iPhone®. “We doubled company headcount in 2008 and we anticipate a similar hiring outlook for 2009,” said Steven Nasiri, president, CEO and founder of InvenSense. “In spite of the recession, and in almost every market segment, we see demand and interest for our innovative motion processing products growing sharply. We’ve strengthened our team by adding three talented industry veterans, Mahesh Karanth, Michael Maia, and Stephen Lloyd, to help fully capitalize on our growth.” Mahesh Karanth, chief financial officer, brings 20 years of experience in finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance to InvenSense. In his last position, he served as CFO with Telsima, a fabless WiMAX semiconductor start-up company. Prior to that, he held various positions in corporate strategy, treasury, banking, equity investments, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures with Hewlett Packard and Compaq. Karanth also spent eight years as a partner with Ernst & Young in Asia where he specialized in audit and business consulting services. Michael Maia, vice president of marketing, brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and sales in the consumer electronics industry including leadership on two company IPOs. He was a co-founder of PortalPlayer, which developed the hardware and embedded software technology in the Apple iPOD®, where he served for eight years in various roles including vice president of sales and marketing and general manager. He guided the company to an IPO and over $225 million in revenue. Maia also held leadership positions as senior director at National Semiconductor, business unit vice president at Cirrus Logic, and as vice president of sales and marketing at Trident Microsystems where he also contributed to the company IPO. Stephen Lloyd, vice president of engineering, brings 20 years of experience in engineering and product development in the communications and semiconductor industry. He served as a founder and vice president of engineering at Beceem Communications, a fabless WiMax company, where he led the RF and SOC IC design, software development and system engineering. Previously, he worked for Skyworks Solutions as director of engineering, developing advanced GSM and CDMA cellular ICs. Lloyd also held management positions with Conexant and Rockwell Semiconductor.
